Who we are
Several years ago one of our members decided they wanted to portray a figure from the Civil War that not many people
give much thought to. They chose a Tiger because of their dashing uniforms but also because it was rare to see them portrayed.
A year or so later one of the local cavalry reenactment groups disbanded and two of the members wanted to make their own unit.
They chose the Tigers bacause they wanted to get away from the cavalry and go back to the infantry. From there the unit grew
and for a few seasons there were about 7 or 8 of us fielding at events. Since then the the two founders of the reenacting
group have since moved on but the unit is still alive and well.
Our unit is a member of the 9th Battalion, so therefore we follow all of their rules and regulations. Any event we attend,
and the rest of the battalion is not at, we do our best the represent them. We will fall in with any unit if our numbers are
low but our battalion always comes first.
We are in this hobby for fun. It is a hobby and not a job. We do not get caught up in the politics. If we enjoy an event
we will be their reguardless of who is sponsoring it. There are too few events offered in our area for us to base our decisions
on whether or not to attend by who is sponsoring it.
